Had this at a gem in coral gables about two weeks ago. Anacapri on Ponce. Food was delicious too.

I'll be celebrating Robbie Burns day on Saturday by attending a Scotch and Haggis party, featuring over 60 varieties of scotch.
I'm hoping to make it through the higher end single malts, 18 years or older, before I revert to the younger varieties.

Doing my usual Saturday evening thing cooking dinner. Fun food is my Saturday thing and I like to listen to Rock music (Deep Purple tonight) and drink aged red wine while I do it.
Homemade Pizza tonight with a 10yo Coonawarra Shiraz. Sublime.

Wow...you guys have been keeping this going. :-) I tried a couple kinds a few weeks ago that I havent posted. Ok, I tried a few more too that didn't remember to take a picture of so I'll find them online & post them. LOL

The 1st one is called OPEN. A bit too sweet but overall was ok. Perhaps if I have it again might add a bit of ginger-ale to make it a spritzer. Cheap wine so I wasn't expecting anything grand from it.

.

Bet you're all going to be jealous as hell to know what we have homegrown in Ontario!

THIS...

.

I didnt taste it personally but my brother said it was pretty good.

Want a fantastic $12 Cab? The 2012 Kirkland (Costco brand) Napa Cabernet is excellent. We are going to pick up 2 cases. Hard to find anything this good at even twice the price IMHO.

I think you could drink the whole case and bring it back for a refund

I've tried it maybe 4 years ago, wasn't bad at all

I was pleasantly surprised to know Mexico had such a diverse quality of wine available. Gerardo has enlightened me once again! France and California are not the only fish in the sea; we just need to open our eyes and be willing to go outside our comfort zones. I just discovered my own area, New Jersey, has some wines that have even outshined Nappa Valley in recent tastings.

There are many great wines out there, I admit that many years ago I was reluctant to consider mesican wine...then I tried it an started doing research....all those awards, variety, flavors. I was wrong; Valle de Guadalupe makes amazing products. As you say, we hav to break our own barriers and go out of our comfort zones.

Happy drinking!

They had a case of Napa Corison '97 Cabernet a while back. Scooped the lot up and it's fantastic. They had a Sommelier that happened to be there at the time, the look on his face when I said all take them all was funny

Was at the NY release party for the 2012 Quintessa a few weeks ago. If you're a fan, '12 was a spectacular year!

“Out of 1,306 tests only 83 came back,” he said. “We know that the vast majority of the wine business is safe. If you’re spending $20 on a bottle of wine you’re not going to have concerns most likely.”
I think most will be fine

Had a bottle of Machete from Orin Swift last night. Really good Napa blend. Our other favorite from OS is Mercury Head.

This was my choice last night. http://www.menageatroiswines.com

I like this one because isn't so heavy you have to have it with a meal. Reasonably priced as well.

Have you tried Menageatrois Midnight? ... Same price, just a little darker.

Just finished this tonight! Great full body flavour and a half decent price, by Canadian standards.
