So trying to find something for everyday, here are the things I’m looking for, none are written in stone except size range and lug width
Explorer style dial or iwc pilot style (Arabic numbers, minimal) 38-42mm Lume Day/day would be awesome 20mm Automatic preferred Could have rotatable bezel Low height Up to 1500 ish Things I have looked at are or have owned Halios seaforth Orient mako 2 (current) Hamilton khaki Sinn 104 Various seikos (not a huge skx fan) Could stretch to Tudor prince maybe Tag connect Looking for some other Options I might not have considered, keep mind of events I have owned everything from mako 2 to yellow gold day dates, I’m open minded Maybe I’ll buy a dirt bike instead or put it toward gravel bike frame steve |

Have you checked out the Tudor Day Date in 39mm? You can find them pre-owned for around 2K

The Monta Triumph checks a lot of those boxes. Unfortunately they are out of stock on a few dial colors. It’s under budget with a lot of the strap options but $95 over your budget on a bracelet.

I don’t. I too went back and forth and waited too long. I had my eye on the grey dial with red “Triumph.” There was a thread from someone who did buy one who seemed happy.

With the strong USD to EUR you don’t have to stretch far to get a vintage datejust from Europe. That would be my choice :)

Steve, I will take a look at Oris. After many many Rolex, I too got brand fatigue. I bought this from an AD and it is become one of my favorite watches. Wearable. Cheap. Fun. Different. I recognize this model doesn’t fit all of your criteria, but you should give the Brand a look.

That is extremely admirable. Not only taking care of your employee but helping out a small US business at the same time. These are tough and frankly unheard of times. I hope your new watch helps bring some enjoyment from your sacrifice. Enjoy
