Nwa - 5811g-001

So like perhaps some of you, my 2023 resolution was to abstain from purchasing new watches this year as I slow down and really enjoy and be grateful for what I already have. I felt very strongly about this, particularly as the hobby was getting very expensive but also, I was in a place where I was very satisfied with what I already had.

Whilst I was resolute in following through with this plan, a single phone call literally shattered my hopes of achieving this, like being shot in the leg before a marathon, my resolution for 2023 was immediately put in jeopardy.

Anyway, I go to the AD to see check out the 5811G they apparently had for me and upon laying eyes on the stunning dial, I was sold. The watch is just stunning in flesh and very comfortable despite it being in WG. With the required links removed, it weighed in at 183 grams. My SubLV weighs around 145 so a mere 40g heavier. The bracelet is just svelte and supremely comfortable and excellently crafted and of course the micro adjust on both sides is a small but necessary step forward for the nautilus line.

Anyway enough talking, here’s some photos:

Huge congratz !

I've been around watches for a while now and know the temptation coming now and then. When getting a watch there is a temptation after a while to feel we want to experrience that "purchasing" pleasure again. The problem is that we might go for the watch that we just may prefer among the "available" ones but not the one that appeals the most to us. Especially around novelties presentation periods.
Hence, keeping the budget for when we really find exceptional pieces is the "right" way to go, but of course on the long run.

I wasn't that much in a hurry to try on the 5811. However I forgot how I liked WG hue and color compared to greyer steel (I learned that when the Aquanaut 5650G and 5168G were released). When I finally tried it lately, the dial/white gold combo looked just stunning.

I totally understand your "exception" with going for this one.

Enjoy it well :)

Try not to be too hard on yourself for breaking your resolution for 2023, there's always 2024.
Now that you've failed in your resolve for 2023, what else you lookin' at?

Now that's the attitude

Congrats on the new watch, I don't think many would be able to turn it down either if offered... enjoy it!

Absolutely stunning! The dial looks amazing in pictures, would imagine it is a show stopper in person. There is no saying no to that!
