Icon3 How Seiko Beat the Swiss at their Own Game

Seiko dominated the Swiss chronometer competitions in the 1960s, eventually leading the Swiss to put up quartz movements against Seiko's mechanical movements, before closing down competition altogether.

Here's a great new video from Watch Geek telling the story, in a concise and easy to follow way.

"Seiko at Astronomical Observatory Chronometer competitions - or - How the Swiss lost their honor."

Really interesting video, I never knew about the ‘68 deal. Crazy they could be so petty. Thanks Adam for always finding interesting stuff to further our knowledge.
