OK, took me awhile to post this but easily the best Rolex I own. Happy to join da Klub. Bought Pelagos recently to be my daily wear, and while I love Pelagos too, this guy took over with no shame.

6weeks in

Ok, it's been 6weeks since I moved from my 16600 to my new DSSD. I've worn it everyday, all day since.

What a magnificent watch. I just love it. Yes, overbuilt beyond my Sea Dweller and beyond the limits of our diving but that's the point isn't it?

Just love it...

I've been agonizing over what to get myself for a 35th birthday present. For some time I was going to go 216570, but then I started missing my SubC, and since I'm really into bigger watches, I started thinking DSSD. For a while I've been thinking that's the way to go, but then I start second guessing myself and thinking that it's not quite enough 'iconic Rolex' (e.g. Shiny black diall, cyclops, etc.).

Has anyone gone from a Sub to a DSSD and regretted it in terms of "feeling" like a Rolex?

So this trusty fellow was on my wrist when my wife went into labor couple days ago. We welcomed a new baby girl together!

Picked up new DSSD this afternoon.
A random serial# with a mk2 dial.

I'm starting to think the mk3 sans serif dial posted some time back is a hoax.

Gotta say the mk2 dial is a big improvement over the mk1 dial IMHO.

Cheers.

I've gone through a number of different models and the DSSD just checks all the boxes I wanted. Doesn't feel any less iconic or 'Rolex like' in my book. I like the engineering that went into its production as well as you don't see many worn.

You got a random serial DSSD? That is the very first one I've heard of.

What's the current retail price from a Rolex dealer? I have to keep tabs on it to make sure that my insurance coverage will cover a new replacement for my DSSD.

Thanks!
