Feeling a little trepidation

I'm heading off solo into some mountains on the Thai/Myanmar border tomorrow. Hopefully I won't get eaten by a tiger or carried away by Burmese bandits. But if I do, it's been nice knowing you.

Well, if anything, Happy Valentine's Day over there!!
Enjoy yourself but carry the appropriate "equipment", just in case.
Pictures, or it didn't happen... BTW...

We'll pay the ransom to the bandits.

As far as the tiger you're on your own.

I did that a few years back. Stayed in Golden Triangle and went into Myanmar and Laos. Little unnerving when they take your passport at the border and keep it until you return though. Have fun!

So I made it back safe and sound. But it was stinking hot out there. Up to 38 degrees, the selfie at the summit shows the suffering I was going through. But some nice steep jungle trails with loads of bugs trying to get a sip or two of my blood. Burma was the next mountain across.

No need for much safety gear for this one (not much chance of a snow storm at 38 degrees). Lots of fluid. Food. And a snake bite bandage. 3 different gps receivers. One epirb. And a mobile phone.
