Rolex Submariner 5513 - Circa 1984 - Real or Fake?

Looking to purchase my first submariner and a 5513 just feels right.

This particular one looks great and was made around the time I was born.

It looks to be in great condition for its age. However, has no papers, box or service history. The blurry pictures from the seller also had me wondering.

Based on my research and the serial starting with an 8, the watches features look accurate for 1984 model (white gold around the lume) however, I am no expert.

Any guidance before I take the plunge would be extremely appreciated.

Thank you!

I don't think the case and bezel insert are genuine.

Why?
And if so did you report?

thinking reasoning for the:

case, could be that it looks a little flat on the side angle (near the lugs), and the edges seem a little too sharp from the top down.

bezel, could be overall type width and the positioning of the top / 12 o'clock marker.

anyway, i wasn't able to get enough information from the seller and combined with the blurry photos and my inexperience, i sadly had to let this one go.

it went for only US$8.1K ... someone may have landed a bargain.
