I really think I need to go try a TOG on. They just do not do anything for me from photos.

Limited edition or not, I think the current version w/red hands date & script looks far cooler! Add the extra cost and this piece really is for 'collectors only'. However anything that gets the TOG attention is a good thing! Like to see it in person. Best, Mark-keeper of the TOG flame-P

Mark P I hear you on the red sweeping hand, there is a certain coolness factor there! I am glad that there are other folks here who appreciate the TOG... Reason to add a pic of mine

Nice, but I actually prefer the red hand & writing as it's more a nod to the vintage red's that came before green was the new Rolex fashion.

I also prefer the red hand and writing but both versions look very clean. Hoping somebody here will pick one up and show some pictures!

Every watch company that respects itself releases special editions for Japan , they are their best customers. They consider asking for discounts , degrading to the item they wish to buy. They dont want that Rolex as is , they want that Rolex that they paid X amount of money to get . Therefore , making them watch companies best customers' and having companies release special edition that come with a premium ofcourse for them.

Engine has started!!!

I now need this limited edition TOG in my colllection! I have never been a fan of white dial Rolex timepieces but something about the white dial is screaming at me. One of my colleagues pointed me to the Daikokuya brand shop and the Joutaro blog in Japan. Limited to 300 pieces this may be hard to find, however, at $11-$12k to play the limited edition game has me thinking, find a complete T<25 1655, get the HULK, or venture into the limited edition world? Decisions, decisions... Stay tuned Thanks again Otto for bringing this to our attention!

Wow - the GREEN really stands out.
The regular TOG have the Red Second Hand and all.
The GREEN is truly unique and not seen in any of the dealer catalogs.
I am nuts for the unique and one off where you do not see things like that every day.
Congrats to you for landing this one.
To quote John E Brozek from The Rolex Report Book (page 53)
"The watch was not released into all Rolex markets (sold primarily in Japan) and was not a major seller. Therefore, very few were produced, making it a highly collectable model."

I love these Limited addition TOGs. An even hotter item now that Rolex has discontinued toe TOG.

No one knows why Rolex issued this particular style TOG in Japan only. And what about the the 300 pieces number? Is this count accurate?
Won't be it be nice if someone from Japan steps up and give us reasons for this exotic preference?

Wow!

To me this seems very strange that Rolex would issue a Turn-o-Graph, a model that rumor has it is not in the new catalog, in an edition limited to a total of 600 pieces comprising both dial colors.

These to me would be the logical candidates for becoming "safe queens."

Turn-O needs a facelift, not a flat-out cancellation IMO.

What kind of facelift?

It's a DateJust.

What would you expect or suggest?

It is a legitimate Rolex. It was featured on their website for a while.

It was issued earlier this year I believe.

Update after speaking with a RUSA Rep Today

I have omitted the name of the rep and edited parts of the e-mail for privacy reasons, interesting that some folks at RUSA are not aware of the green sweeping hand, this make me want the piece even more

Hello Sam, I apologize for the miscommunication sir, a red sweeping hand is the only hand manufactured by Rolex worldwide for a model # 116263. A green sweeping hand has not been manufactured by Rolex at any point; to my or to the technicians with whom I discussed the matter with recollections. If you would like to contact Rolex Geneva to obtain any possible additional information, I would indeed encourage that. In case you would like Geneva’s phone number, it is 41 22 302 22 00. Thank you again Sam and I hope you have a great evening.

Well, from what I've observed, RUSA can be as out of the loop as anyone, but I suspect that this edition is not official.

Hey Grady. I have every reason to believe that this limited edition TOG does exist as Otto is in Tokyo and referenced the lexia ginza shop there. I will reach out to one of my colleagues in Tokyo to see if any AD's have it in stock... I will report back.
