5980/1r vs 15407st scratches

Hi,
i would need your support and would be glad if you can help me out. I am fortunate enough to own the 15407st and the 5980/1r. Both watches are nearly like new although the Patek was only worn once. I am currently considering to sell one watch due to other investments.
I would wear the one i keep just for very special occassion so not as a daily driver.
What is now really interesting to me is which model would you think scratches more and easier? Which model gets easier micro scratches and the most important topic is on which pieces would more be visible. I read a few statements saying both pieces are scratch magnets but on the 15407st scratches would not bother so much due to the dial that keeps the attention. I am not so sure as the micro scratches I already have on my piece are really annoying. Are there any collectors here with rose gold pateks and able to share a few pics of there pieces? I was also told that the rose gold get can discolored over the time. Is this true? Thank you so much for all your support

If the keeper is a special occasion watch then I wouldn’t worry too much about scratches. I’ve seen pics of RG Patek with discoloration over time.
I would keep the AP since it is more unique.

The only issue I have with my AP is the huge gap between the bracelet and my arm when I stretch my hand like you can see on the picture. Is this just normal. My wrist is around 17-17.4 cm.

Ha!

I prefer the 15407st aesthetically and think it’s more versatile. Also rose gold will scratch easier than stainless steel, so I’d say with the patek you’d accumulate more scratches.

Regarding your bracelet fit. Have you ever tried removing the link or even having a 1.5 link?

Thanks
I have had 1 link of years ago but thought it was too tight. It’s almost two years ago so maybe I should change it again and see how it fits. Honestly I like the AP a lot but the 5980 is also extremely nice but maybe not with scratches or discoloration.

Watch seems way too big for your wrist.

Think I need to remove two links. My wrist is 17.2 cm so usually totally fine for 41mm APs.

I've had the 5711R for nearly 9 years now and there is no discolouration, I have a few marks on the bezel so it does mark up easily as I wear it sparingly, but it doesn't really affect how I view the watch and a quick turn and change of light and they all disappear, besides you can send in to PP for a polish every 3/4 years if marks do bother you.

No, the bracelet is too loose. He needs to remove a link or 2.

That’s true but if I am not able to wear a 41mm AP with a wrist of around 17-17,5 cm who should be able to do especially when the European average is 16,8 cm

The modern RO is definitely designed for those with bigger wrists.

If your worried about scratches then definitely go with the AP... as gold is more softer than steel
