Not looking for a group hug, but...

I gotta say this place ROCKS! I'm so glad for the turn of events that led us all here. It really is a VERY friendly place full of fun, diverse and entertaining guys who all have a crazy affliction for horologie.

And the management team has to be one of the best on the internet!!

It's nice to be among friends.

Great thread John. You are certainly right, the events that made us all come together were certainly a blessing in disguise (well, not well disguised, but you get my point ).

This place rocks!

Well, that turn of events passed me by a 1000 miles but I'm equally glad to have found this terrific place. It is so addictive. Warm and friendly people from all walks of life. It reminds me of another great forum.

My contributions in the horological field are a bit meager, I do realize. I have owned a great number of watches but I’m no Walt Odets. So my contributions up to now have been confined to goofing around and selling pot to a growing number of forum members. (JJ, you didn’t think you were the only one, did you?).

No, seriously, this is a great place with great people. I love you all.

Frans.

Several things make this a pleasant Rolex forum.
- Awesome members. After all, you are the breath that brings the forum to life.
- Awesome moderators that care about the forum they frequent.
- Awesome Admin .... thank you very much ! (Not power hungry, always thankful, and as our members say >>> Modest???)
-Superior forum software. Easy to use and easy on the eyes.

You all have my promise to always remember ... this board is for the members and they will make the decisions that shape it's future.

Funny to think when I started the forum, I didn't even own a Rolex. I was just a dreamer, never knowing it would oneday take off like it has.

Yes this is a great forum with a definite lack of megalomania.

Daren thats a good quote "If you build it they will come" loved that movie but, back to the thread.

Thank you Mark for your putting up with us and your trust in us. I like to think, yes you built this place and we invaded it and took it over all because some kiwi (not to mention names abut his int's are J) said hey all come to rolexforums no one there we can make it into some thing. Well we did come, and JJ disappeared on us onto bigger and better things (in his mind) until someone put a knot in his tail and brought him back to the reality of his friends were here building while he was off playing. The rest is history as you can see that kiwi has a few posts under his belt now and seems to be a permanent fixture here.

Thanks again Mark, and thank you all for your trust in rolexforums :o)

Sheesh. I go away for one day, and you people go all mushy on me. Good grief, Charlie Brown!!

But seriously, you are all 100% correct. If Mark hadn't had the accidental foresight to start this place, and JJ hadn't been fortunate enough to find it (even though he deserted it for a minute), the rest of us wouldn't have come along to build it into the world class forum it is rapidly becoming.

And it is all due to the quality of the people who are members here. Most of us have come from other places (whether voluntarily or forced to is immaterial) and have taken from those places the things we liked about them and left behind those things that caused us to leave. From that we have melded a wonderful, warm, friendly place to hang out, where people actually care for each other and respect each other. It is the latter that I think is the most telling aspect of TRF. As long as we continue to maintain that respect for one another, we will continue to have a place where people will want to come and participate.

So three cheers to ALL of US. Because WE are ALL TRF. We all make it what it is.

Okay, it has been established that we all like each other, can we please get back to making fun of one another now?
