How Many AD relationships
I'm working with on AD in NYC. I've had contact in the past from an AD in NJ but never bought from them and they have indicated they want to develop a relationship. Do you think it's better to buy all watches from one AD or with with more than one in terms of getting more desirable pieces down the road?

The market being what it is today if an AD expresses interest to "earn" my business I would take it.

I would talk to the AD. Define the relationship. Are they seeing other customers or are you two mutually exclusive. If they're seeing other clients while you're only seeing them that isn't really fair to you. I think you should consider the online route and meet other AD's as well. Plenty of fish in the sea.
Relationships are hard, but communication and setting expectations is key. Have fun and remember to be safe. ![]() |

It doesn’t hurt to have a conversation, and I once had an AD that gave me access to a hard to get piece in an effort to win consideration in future purchases. That said, I do try and stay focused now on two ADs. |

Great advice. I think I'm going to work with 2 ADs. I have enough pieces on my 'wish list' that should create solid relationships....hopefully. Thanks.

You can have as many AD relationships you want, if you can sustain a level of spending at these ADs to maintain a relationship beyond just talking about watches to get your desired pieces. :)
Maybe it still works just by having nice watch conversations at the smaller ADs, but there are just too many walk in customers who ask about the Nautilus and Aquanaut. A certain level of financial incentives will bring you closer to your objectives. :) |

One AD is all I need. I have a limited disposable income and hard to diversify.
