Icon6 A ‘Fact’ you’ve found interesting ?

Queen Bee is the only Bee that carries babies in the hive …

The mass of the Earth was first measured with any accuracy (within about 20% of the correct value) in the Schiehallion experiment in the 1770s, and within 1% of the modern value in the Cavendish experiment of 1798

The world’s oldest cat lived to 38 years and three days old. Creme Puff was the oldest cat to ever live

A light-year is the distance light travels in one Earth year. One light-year is about 6 trillion miles (9 trillion km)

The carbon footprint of USA's Virginia / Colorado / etc data mining operations is utterly staggering.

Estimates are 2.5 - 3.5 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions are from data centers. For reference, aviation is around 2.5%.

A ‘Fact’ you’ve found interesting ?

Hot off the press…I just read that Intel will have one trillion transistors on a single chip by 2030.

I suppose it’s not a fact quite yet. They still have several years of development left, but I still found that to be “interesting” to say the least.

The Earth is spinning at 1000 MPH while orbiting the Sun at 67,000 MPH and our Solar System whirls around the center of our Galaxy at 490,000 MPH.

And I got a speeding ticket for going 62 MPH in a 50 MPH zone. Doesn't seem right.

And our Milky Way Galaxy is racing through the universe at 1.3 million miles per hour. No wonder people get dizzy sometimes…

"Comedian" Ricky Gervais was the lead singer of a new wave band in the early 80's. Seona Dancing

Very Bowiesque. I personally like 80's Era pop music and think this was good. Didn't make it in the west, but apparently had an enormous hit in the Philippines, who view Ricky Gervais in a totally different context..

In 1942, six German soldiers came ashore in NYC from a U Boat with the intent to sabotage US infrastructure. They were caught almost immediately and five of them were tried and executed two months later.

This helped me grasp the real difference between millionaires and billionaires -

A million seconds is less than 12 days

A billion seconds is over 31 years

Depending on your opinion the first ever wrist watch was from ,,,,,,

And yet there is documentary evidence to prove beyond any doubt that, in response to a commission from the Queen of Naples June 8th 1810, Breguet conceived and made the first wristwatch ever known, the Breguet watch number 2639

The surprise fun fact is that so few visitors to a Rolex forum haven’t got a spare $30.

I have a real fascination with bees …

The male bees (in any species) cannot sting as they don't have the stinging anatomy, which makes them super safe. These 'drones' are much bigger than their female counterparts and have a rounded bottom. Their role is to reproduce with a fertile Queen and they don't collect pollen or nectar
