Review of Rolex "Bluesy" Submariner 16613 (thanks to TRF and RIP JJ)

I wrote a small blog of the legendary 16613 "Bluesy". Credit to TRF (for valuable information as usual).

I hope you enjoy the writeup.

Excellent write up JP. I switch between 16610, 16600 and 16710. Always love coming back to 16610, it feels right

Thanks.

Do you think JJ would approve this review? :D

Absolutely. I don’t know JJ personally but I read he liked his Bluesy and YM silver dial along with that jug of beer. Excellent taste. Btw, I remember going through your thread on 16600 and seeing all those pictures. One of the reasons I got inspired and bought one last year

Wow... amazing. Thank you very much. That 16600 writeup is one of the most popular ones in my blog. I love my SD too.

I concur with many of your thoughts, JP. It’s a real head scratcher as to why 16600 is languishing so far behind 16710 in terms of demand now. It’s a fantastic watch. Anyway, have a nice weekend, my friend

Maybe the 16600 always suffered because the design is almost similar to the Submariner. Maybe people outside the hardcore watch fans don't really appreciate it. It looks like the Sub but it's not... and Submariner is what every casual watch fan wants, right?

For me the SD is the king of the sea. ;)

Here's a full sized photo of the dial. I think I did well with this shot.

Great dial. But personal preference, I hate two tone bracelets. I lived disco once, that was enough.

That said, whoever has one, enjoy it to the max. You buy a watch for yourself and not for what others think. Screw the opinions of others including myself. It’s your hard earned cash. If you love it, I’m very happy for you. Sincerely.

I have a 16613 ‘bluesy’
It was one of JJ’s favourites and it’s a favourite of mine.

I also have a 16600, this one was JJ’s.

I feel sorry for someone who can bring themselves to hate a watch.

But I do agree with you, ‘screw your opinion’.

Sincerely,

Haha did you translate that with Google or do you actually speak Finnish?

Thanks man.

Who remembers JJ's two tone blue Yachty? I was a Watch Talk forum admin back then and JJ posted at least 5 photos of it every single day.

"It was the watch that he would be buried with".

Well he traded it in a month.

What a funny guy he was. RIP.
