Was in Sydney airport today and it looked much the same at the Rolex shop. Might have been 10 watches total in the whole store and not one sport model. All DJ and a couple of DD.

Won't be long before the AD's will be selling the display cases as they are surplus to requirements

Maybe they cleared all the two tone mid size diamond encrusted datejusts out to stock it with the dozens of Daytonas, GMTs and subs they just got in... Or maybe not.

It's a shame you can't post pics of all the happy customers walking out with their new Rolex watches. You were too late. I bet they were happy. I bet your AD is too.

Recession is coming so you need to diversify to survive, so Rolex are now also selling glass cabinets.

I can understand if there’s no SS sports on display, but no classics DJ is definitely a new norm for me. But again i could be wrong since i seldom pop in AD nowadays ;-)

Not normal at my AD....at least 50 watches in the case. Not the hot SS, but plenty of inventory.

It reflects a clear shift in strategy. Patek makes a fraction of the watches Rolex does but has similar revenue. Think it’s pretty clear Rolex is going to raise prices and tighten supply to command more Patek like prices...

Yes it is. I spoke to one of my AD's recently and he told me that Rolex is obviously aware of this issue and are going to work to make the display area have a more boutique feel. So yes, get used to it, the future cases will be built for fewer watches.

Picked up a new one this week and the same at my AD’s case. Both sides had that wave section basically shrinking his case down by half

I think that if the AD is not selling to a TS, then he has a family member of friend selling them out the back door.

Inventory is coming out slowly to all the AD's but they are selling to the sellers, so it appears that the display is empty but it is not... Don't ask me how I know.

Something is wrong. Could it be that Rolex is in the process of making over there whole line say to larger case sizes and are just letting all existing inventories deplete? Something is up because If I had a Rolex franchise and had nothing to sell I would be asking Rolex to pay my rent.

I'm not so sure. Rolex has always been about attainable luxury for most people, Patek has always been more. The current pricing allows for most people to afford one so it'll stay that way.
