Rolex grenade

Mainsprings come packaged in a ring, you press them into the open barrel at once.
Sometimes something in the factory goes wrong, so this mainspring is now not secure anymore, making it quite unsafe to open this package

Now I'm not opening it since I would like to keep my eyes, but I might ask someone unsuspecting to open this if I'm feeling mischievous

Agreed, would love to see the "battle damage" after that.

Watchmaker mischievous behavior syndrome...

Like that time you put all the gears backwards into the movement and the owner kept getting younger?

I often wondered about that
So, it loads like a stripper clip.
Does it come pre-lubed with the correct/measured amount with nothing more to do?

You're dirty

For clarity, I was actually referring to something else that's related to firearms

Sometimes, when you're having a typical Monday morning brain fart, pressing the mainspring into the barrel goes wrong, making it unwind all at once and 'explode' into your face, sending the barrel into outer space. This does wake you up quite well though

Yep, like a stripper clip indeed.
The spring is pre lubed, bit you do need to grease the barrel wall and the two holes in which the barrel arbor turns

Dirt is now busy on google........

Bas,

I stripped down a 10k string potentiometer last week.
The stainless steel actuating wire had broken and I had to have a look.

I think it had a 10 day PR wound up inside.

I don’t know how they make them for the price.

Will you repair it, or is it not accurate enough after that?
I could weld that wire with my laser
