16710 Authenticity? Need you help.

Hello again, kind members of this forum.
I think I've violated the unspoken protocol before of buying a watch before asking you guys about a Rolex's authenticity.
Never again and I am truly sorry.
Before I send an offer in, would you guys mind if you take a look at this auction if it raises any red flags?

Thank you very much.

looks good to me...pics suck pretty bad but everything looks ok...I would ask for better pics personally before pulling the trigger just to make extra sure.

Thanks, Chris! Very much appreciated!
The 16710 has been my very grail for the longest time.
I just pulled the trigger. I didn't have time to ask for better pictures as I am going to be on a flight soon.
Thank you again!

I would never, ever buy a watch from someone I didn't know or trust enough that I had to ask about its authenticity.

Buy the seller.

The watch does look athletic however as was mentioned the pictures kind of suck, this is a problem sometimes things are hidden behind sloppy or crappy pictures. I bought a watch once where all the pictures had the minute hand on the cycles other th all the all the pics. When I got the watch I noticed the minute hand was scratched probably like me or amateur service in the past. I know there is tons of great sellers out there but be very careful minimal always trusted seller

I hope this works out for you.
- Lousy, far away or blurry closer photos, not a good start. In today's world, even a five year old takes better photos than that with a phone.
- No box and no papers, not good either.
- Quite shinny bracelet, either not original or polished to eternity.

Don't even waste time opening package at home.
Open it as you run to an AD for authentication.

Good luck!

Thank you for expressing your concerns. I really do appreciate it.
I figured I'll pull the trigger - I've been wanting the GMT forever.
It was the watch that started the itch along with the 18k Day Date.

It's really a tough time for me financially and I couldn't justify paying for a box and papers since sellers are asking an arm and leg for them.
I sent in a very reasonable offer given the CAD and USD disparity.
I got it for $3800 USD. I figured if it turns out to be fake, I'm protected through PayPal and Credit Card, am I not?

Thank you.

You should be well protected with Pay Pal.
Just seriously make sure you immediately authenticate it.
Sincerest Good luck.

I'm not sure how you mustered up the gall to buy this watch based on those flip phone photos. Its not that you are crazy for doing so (you are pretty well protected with pay pal) its more the hassle factor that comes with it. I hope its an authentic specimen so you don't hv to Jack with a dispute. Good luck.

Hello again, everyone.

I just received it in the mail and put it on my wrist.

Will be running to the RSC on Friday to have it checked out - asking for a Pepsi bezel insert.

I opened it up and compared it side by side with my Explorer II.
The movement and all the markings are identical and consistent with the 3185.

Good looking.
Glad it all worked out but don't pass on that affirmation by Rolex.

Thank you so much! I will be posting an update right after.
It is my grail watch and I will be letting go of my others.
I am stoked! Hopefully it is indeed real.
