Which seamaster chrono, diver or PO?

So, I am considering adding a new watch to my small collection, and have narrowed it down to an omega seamaster chrono, and down to 2 models. One diver, and one PO, so what are people's thoughts? FWIW, my current collection is a black gmt master II (40 mm) and a panerai radiomir with the wire lugs (47 mm). Size really isn't an issue as I can rock a panerai easily, (7 inch wrist, but on the flat side)

Both of the chrono's I'm looking at have the same calibre, the omega 9900, so no difference there. Just color, water depth rating, etc.. I'm looking to purchase on a bracelet, but get some NATO's to rock with it.

So what do people think? the blue diver or the orange/red PO. with $900 in price difference, that isn't an issue, just style.

One final question. I've heard that the PO chrono can be used underwater. does anyone know if this is true, and if the diver chrono can be used underwater as well? thanks!

Of those I like the blue. Just a bit too much orange for me on the other.

Yes you can operate the pushers underwater

If you like orange have you considered this one? A little more subdued.

I voted the SMP 300m. I find it more comfortable than the PO, and the blue grey is more interesting than the PO's bright orange in my opinion.

Orange in titanium gets my voice, it is the best of two worlds - lightweight and iconic colour.

From Diver 300m and up yes you can operate the pushers underwater.
I forgot is it applicable for a certain depth or full WR rating of the watch, better check this detail in a manual.

I prefer the Orange as of now it’s whether it will stand the test of time, as I’ve found preferences I had say 10 years ago have changed.

thanks for the link, I'll check it out. While I doubt I'll ever get to 600m, or even 300, I spend a fair amount of time in the water, both salt and fresh, so being able to use the chrono function is useful, especially for swimming.

I like the look of the PO’s case and bezel better, it is a bit big, but the 300is almost as big so not much of a distinction.

From what I understand both models can use the pushers under water.

Yes the pushers can be used to the full depth. I’m sure it’s in writing in some Omega literature if you need reassurance. It’s not uncommon these days for dive-chronographs from good brands. Omega, JLC, Blancpain all do it off the top of my head.
I vote for the Seamaster but they are so similar it’s purely a matter of taste.

I'm still not the biggest fan of a two subdial chronograph.

I like the SMP better out of the two

I voted PO. The SM300 is just too busy for me, all-around. I like the more subdued look of the PO.

POC all the way. The 9900 movement is outstanding. I have tested this movement extensively and it’s amplitude is so strong after 24 hours, it will embarrass the latest Rolex 32 series movement and I am a 32 series fan. Yea, it’s that good.
On a side note, Orange is the signature color of the Planet Ocean. It’s the hallmark color and why I have to have in my latest POC.

I have used this POC as my most trusted and functional technical dive watch. I can’t believe how much I time multiple items on a dive now. No screw down pushers that can be used under water is simply brilliant and a huge advantage.

Look at its amplitude WITH the chronograph running for 24 hours..

I’m in total agreement with Mystro above, I only wish to point out that both watches share the same movement.
