Big Block for Explorer 2 16570

Obviously I can make my own decision but I'm interested in opinions. I have the opportunity to make a direct trade, both full sets recently serviced and great condition. I'm finding the Big Block a little heavy and after 3 years feel it might be time for a change. Thanks

The Exp2 is a wonderfully comfortable watch. Nice flat case back. Rolex versus Tudor. VJ 7750 wobble versus in house movement.

Tudor Big Block chronographs are sweet watches but the 5 digit EXP2 is even sweeter. Tudor watches are in general just a bit too thick or tall for my taste. I would go for the trade.

Big Block for Explorer 2 16570

Keep the BB. The E2 may wear smaller but isn't noticeably lighter. The BB is way manlier

Big Blocks are pretty awesome, but the EP2 is my favorite watch of all, so that would be my vote. It's just so comfortable, even compared to my 16610, and it looks great.

What reference # is the big block? Is it in the 94XXX or 791XX families? If so, I would most definitely hang onto it. These big blocks are getting more and more rare and their prices are going through the roof. The 16570, although a great watch, are a dime a dozen.

I have the 79180 and I like to change up the bracelet to either a nato or leather strap ever once in awhile. Not only does it lighten it up, but gives it a new look and feel.

Good luck.

This is the potential new piece. One of the last 3185 pre engraved rehaut, approx 2007.

Hi Rootbeer, Still can't decide whether to sell my own 2006 16570 full set Polar but prices seem to change weekly......do you mind if I ask how much the 2007 one was ?? If you prefer not to publicise, i'm happy for you to PM me.
Thanks.

There seem to be a lot of 16570s in circulation and on the market. Same can't be said for 94xxx or 791xxx. Once you part with it, you'll likely never own one as good again. IMHO, you're trading down from iconic vintage to high production modern classic... but hey, if you're bored, change is good!
