I have 6 1/2" inch wrist and I think the 116610LN Sub is about as big as I like it on my wrist.

For 6 1/4" inch wrist I recommend all the 40 mm and under sport watches. Daytona, Explorer, Subs, GMT Master IIs etc.

The 5 digits Subs do wear much smaller and more comfortable than their 6 digit counterpart due to slimmer case and lighter bracelet and personally I think would look nice on a 6 1/4" inch wrist.

My preference however goes to my SD4K due to its thinner lugs despite its greater depth…



I guess wrist shape also comes into it and my small wrist is pretty flat which helps. Some more photos to help…

Maybe. But OF band juts out a bit at the top and is a bit stiffer than bracelet, from what I’ve heard.

Try looking for a non ceramic Submariner, like an M serial version. Or, try a 16570 Exp.II. I’ve owned both of these watches and they fit any wrist. I still own a 16570 Exp.II because the newer 42mm version just felt too big on my wrist. I wish I still owned my M serial Sub.

I think a 36mm Explorer won't wear like a sport watch on your wrist, my guess from your post is that you'd like to go bigger.

As said above, the 16570 (Explorer II) is probably perfect for you & you should definitely try it. The black dial visually wears bigger than the Polar dial (which Is a favorite of mine), but they are (obviously) the same size in reality, and one of the most comfortable watches to me. The watch is also known as a "strap-monster" so you can wear it on a million different straps if you want- which will also make the watch wear a little smaller lug-to-lug if you have a rounder wrist. (BTW, looks like the 6 digit explorer (216570) would look like a skateboard strapped to your wrist.)

I think the 14060M is also a great choice, though & it does wear a bit bigger than the 16570.

A 37mm YM also seems like a good one for you to try, but I can't give a hands-on comment as I have a 40mm.

With a similar wrist, I wear an OP 34 regularly. 5 digit sports is as big as I go, generally.

OPs, DJ, vintage DJs and Air Kings are great. I’d probably like the new Explorer too.

I have a small wrist size similar to yours and I would say the 4 or 5 digit models wear better! The only problem with the 5 digit references in my personal experience is when wearing an Oyster bracelet I have to get a permanent link taken out to center the clasp. Or wear a Jubilee which I prefer anyways

I have a flat, little over 6.25 in wrist. I sport the 36mm explorer I as my go to but the 39 mm OP and 39mm explorer I are two fantastic watches that fill up my wrist nicely. I think you can get away with an older sub or older Explorer II if you like bigger faces but wouldn't go much bigger than that. For a wrist my size, proportion is key.

Thanks I am looking at the 16700 now, which is apparently only 11.8mm thick (same as DJ).
