New Breguet Type 20 coming next year?
Breguet discontinued the current type 20 chrono this year. At the same time, for ‘Only watch 2019’, Breguet brought back the following Type 20 revival watch.
https://monochrome-watches.com/uniqu...2019-hands-on/ The watch is based on the following Type 20. (Picture shared from Instagram) I have a strong suspicion that Breguet will bring a regular production model of this Type 20 revival next year, in another dial color. If this indeed happens with the same metal and size choice (steel and 38.3mm), I am definitely getting one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The Only Watch has a restored vintage movement, iirc. I imagine the new XX will have a more modern movement with a black dial rather than the slate. Of they manage to avoid adding 20 lines of text to the dial or another Swiss sickness (fingers crossed!), it should be awesome!

If they end up making this the replacement for the discontinued type XX, they'll def add a new movement. The only thing that concerns me about the Only Watch iteration is the proportion. A 38.3mm diameter is fine, but not with a 13.9mm thickness. The thickness should be around 11.5mm (at most) to look correct for a smaller watch.

Where did you hear the type 20 was discontinued? I have not heard this anywhere and it is still on the Breguet site.

If they model it after this years only watch, it would be a hit. I would definitely think they could get away with 39 to 40MM and a more modern movement.
I think the current type XX is a very nice watch that is under appreciated, however I can see with the XXI, how they would sort of cannibalize each other as the XX is far enough on the classical side. This new version would be. I also think the XXI is super underappreciated. I know it has a lot of things many people don't like (42MM, a date, a little thick), but damn if it isn't one of the most useful watch setups out there for a chronograph. It doesn't help the visuals, but a date is useful and if you have a date, a 24 hour indicator is very useful. And the chrono setup is absolutely AWESOME. It is soooo much easier to read the minute totalizer on the XXI versus all the chronos with totalizers as sub registers. |

That Only Watch is great looking. I'd love to see that as the new Type XX with the 533.3 movement. That would serve to nice differentiate it from the Type XXI and XXII.

A manual wind would certainly be really cool. Especially if they could keep it under $15K. I love the look of so many of the manual wind Chrono's, but the price is hard to justify.
