100 Years of Rolex
I just received the most recent Mondani book, 100 Years of Rolex. This is a reprint of their book marking the centennial anniversary of Rolex. Their first printing of the book was sold out but due to popular demand they reprinted a limited edition set complete with a nice slip case. This was just published in June 2014 so these are hot off the press.
This book reviews the history of Rolex and presents a timeline of changes and new releases by year. Almost every other page is a year in the production cycle of Rolex. Information about each year's Basel release is highlighted. The book is 12.5 x 10 inches and presents large photographs to review the detail of each watch. The last section of the book also provides information of Rolex watches in film throughout the years. I have several Mondani books and consider this to be the one to own. The Submariner book is a close second due to the content rich information on a limited topic. However 100 Years of Rolex covers the complete history as a visual reference in addition to complimentary text about each watch. The content is written in both English and Italian. Several Rolex ads are Italian only. If you purchase only one Mondani book I recommend this more than any other. Here are some images of the book along with my current Mondani library. |

I bought the Sub book and love re-reading it. Even the wife likes it.
So, how much is the new one, and (since it is a reprint) does it cover the newer ceramic bezel watches and Platinum daytona? |

You can contact TRF member "Giorgia," regarding price and availability. This is currently 390 euros. This is a reprint, rather than an updated version of the 100 Years of Rolex book - 1908 to 2008 so any watches after 2008 are not reviewed. |

I've finished reading this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. The layout of the book as displayed in a historical timeline has been a great feature. Most Rolex books will sequence a book by reference number or by model. By organizing this book by year this shows the evolutionary process of Rolex. If you have a library of Rolex books, want to start one or just want a few books to have I would say this would be in the top three. 100 Years of Rolex, The Rolex Report and The Best of Time Rolex Wristwatches are THE three books I'd recommend to anyone interested.
