?Where's the best place to buy pre-owned pens

I am looking to buy a Montblanc 146 Le Grand rollerball, and maybe a 149, I just can't bring myself to pay for new right now.

Craigslist and ebay are out and I'm not aware of any good pen websites.

Ebay is my first origin of choice for pre-owned Montblancs.

Do your due diligence. And if you are patient you will most certainly have the opportunity to acquire anything you desire.

I am from the time where there were not internet auctions or even sites that sell pens. The best you could hope for was a monthly email or even snail mail pen list that had pens for sale. I love Ebay. Just be wise and look intricately into the pens you want. You will be fine.

Agree with Richard on eBay. You also have placed like fountainpennetwork.com, fivestarpens and some others you can search for on the net. Of course, you can find some here in the classifieds as well.

Well said!!!

You have to love the internet as there are so many places to satisfy your addictions.

How many hours do we spend just drooling over things that we would love to have. I love it!

And I appreciate all of you! Merry Christmas!!!

I've bought several fine pens from eBay. Most are from sellers that have brick and mortar stores. I've only bought one pen from a private seller on eBay and it was awesome! Had a nice conversation with the seller about pens as well. No one is going to screw a guy with a screen name such as Josey Wales for fear of two colt walkers pointed at them at high noon

I am going to also suggest three other places besides Ebay and here on TRF's pen classifieds.

FPN Classifieds: http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/fo...p/classifieds/

Pentrace Green / Market Board: http://www.newpentrace.net/ Click on Market Button at the top right of the page.

I think they only sell new MB. OP is looking for pre-owned.

FPGeeks is a great sight. I'm learning a ton browsing through there. Look in the pen classifieds there and here if you want to stay away from eBay.

www.ftp.com in nyc. They have been in the pen business of selling and repairing since 1946. I have purchased numerous new and pre-owned pens and pencils over the years. No, I don't work for them, just buy.
