First post, first incoming AP

Hi everyone. I’ve been reading these forums for a while so nice to post for a change. After a year+ wait I got my first AP from a boutique few days ago. Love it.

Was afraid it would be a little too big for my wrist but all my other watches are 40-41mm. Wrist size 6.5 but flat so handles it better. Also tried of the new ROOs 43 in the boutique, but that’s massive.

Congrats man! Looks great. Which boutique took care of you?

Got my 15500.02 from NYC this year and will admit it’s a little big on me but I like the watch so much I don’t care

Is it possible to get the RO as a first time purchaser?

It looks good and not too big for your wrist size imo.

I’m the living proof, ha. I was certainly asked why AP, why now, why RO etc. but in a very polite way. I really enjoyed talking to the customer representative and we had some good chats about AP and other watches / brands too. Stayed in touch regularly even during covid shutdowns. This particular boutique (and I don’t know the proper etiquette so don’t want to mention which city it’s in) said they only got allocation of 3-4 black ROs this year.

I was also told that AP boutiques are asked to service local territory residents, so that probably helped too. Either way; I still waited 16 months.

On an unrelated note, thank you all for the kind comments. The question is…what’s next. The RO perpetual calendar looks amazing

The answer might depend on where you live but but in the UK you definitely can with a bit of patience.

Congratulations on the 15500 purchase.

Be great to see some more pics in the daylight/sunlight to see that Black dial catch some rays.

Enjoy!

It's kind of nice to hear that boutiques are trying to weed out the flippers (if I'm reading between the lines correctly here). I called an AD recently and was told quite clearly, they do not care if you flip, as long as you keep buying.

Makes me think what it would be like buying a house if after a builder finished it, a grey dealer bought it with the sole purpose to squeeze out more profit. It's an extra middleman that's unnecessary in this case as they are not rehabbing it, renting it, etc. It's a brand new home and their business is in learning how to be 'first in line'.

Anyway, glad to see the patience paid off for you!
