The Ressence Type 1 Slim HOD Limited Edition For HODINKEE

Definitely not for me. Then again, I don't have $22,500 to buy this either.

I felt the same way. I didn’t like the color scheme (dull, drab, depressing) or the strap (looked soft and cheap), and I didn’t really care for the skeleton conceit. What typically draws me to Ressence watches is the smooth, glossy, bubbly design element, which the Hodinkee model seems to lack, at least in the photographs online

All that said, I look forward to each and every Hodinkee collaboration. I’ve purchased one, and I would purchase another if I liked it and were able to put one in my cart.

Totally agree.
But they found 20 buyers pretty quick, a nice easy $450k in sales

As a big Ressence fa I have to concur with the guys who responded before me: I don't like this release at all. I'm 100% sure that if this weren't a Hodinkee collaboration these 20 watches would have spent their life collecting dust in the AD shelves

Agreed, I actually like Ressence also (with a big discount of course), this release looks like crap, but its Hodinkee sheep so I wouldn't expect any less.

What is a reasonable AD discount to expect on Ressence? The watches are very cool but they are mighty expensive. Do they have good resale value? What is the annual production? From reading a few articles this weekend it seems as if the company is in a fairly precarious financial position. One would speculate that if they don’t survive, that 20-40k watch based on ETA movement would be a 2-3k watch in 10 years.

Wanted to bump this question. I'm thinking about getting one of these soon and it would be really helpful to know ahead of time what kind of discount would be reasonable to expect or ask for. Thanks in advance!
