AP Stolen in London

Dear All

My friend just got his AP Ruben Barichello II in Titanum, Royal Oak Offshore robbed from him on 21st Nov 2017. He was on the streets in London when two men pinned him down and removed his watch. This watch is of great sentimental value as well.

Would greatly appreciate it if you guys are able to pass it on as far as possible.

Info is as follows:

Case Number: F73206-644719-0911
Numbered: 911/1000

Thank you.

I am very sorry to hear that and it is rather alarming. Certainly, I hope that your friend is unharmed. Could you share some additional information on the area, circumstances, how visible the watch was and so on, so that we can all be more vigilant as necessary?

Terrible, I'm sorry for your friend and hope that he wasn't hurt!

Unfortunately, this is becoming more and more common these days - and scarily enough, with AP!

I hope he wasn't physically harmed which is the most important thing. I sincerely wish he gets back his RB II back. Both those AH need to be caught and put in the slammer where they belong!

I meant someone last week, he was on vacation in Europe and said the same thing, two man held him down. One man pinned him down and the other takes off his watch. In a pubic area and daylight. No one helped, everyone was just shocked.

What I am thinking is did they target him because it was a rare Ruben Barichello II or simply because it was an AP... It is surprising that they would resort to violently yanking it off someone.

wrong place, wrong time i suspect. If it was an Omega, Breitling, or any other nice watch the result would have been the same most likely. I doubt these guys pass up an opportunity because it isn't the right watch.

Sorry to hear that, thank god your friend is ok. Did not expect this sort of thing to be happening in London, disappointing, is it a new crime wave of this type of thing or an isolated incident?

Maybe not a common incident, but not unique sadly

No word from the OP in response to questions raised by other posters, and who hasn’t been on line since 2 minutes after the first post made on behalf of a friend, and nothing on the theft in the press.

I am starting to wonder if the facts of this case are in line with what was posted

agree. Its true it happens occasionally as with anywhere, but you would think someone would log in to see if someone has found it after posting about it. Im always skeptical of first posts though.

I looked. Off topic, but my takeaway is its shocking how many BNIB of these are available for sale. I always hate to see so many LE's of any watch that have never been worn or enjoyed, and are offered up for sale.

That’s surprising...I dont know what’s worse - these great watches lying in safes for the past 10 yrs, or dealers exaggerating the truth by calling them BNIB.

The RB is, IMHO, one of the coolest LEs - possibly even cooler than the amazing Schumi . It has a great mix of colours, partial open work, cremet (if I’m not mistaken) bezel. Amazing piece.

AP Stolen in London

Oh I’m sick for your friend. The RBII is one of my absolute favs and hard to come by. Hopefully they do something like try to pawn it or something similar. Atleast it’s rare so maybe that will increase the chance of a return.

More info

Dear All

Thanks for the kind replies and apologies my late one. It happened at around 11pm in London, street was relatively empty and they created a distraction that made it seem like it was a fight rather than a robbery, claiming that they my friend was looking at their sister funny. This was of course not the case.

Please try to spread the info around as much as possible, many thanks. If anyone knows anywhere else I could help him post this it'll be great as well.

Which part of London? As in most big cities, there are always safe and unsafe areas.

Did they target him or his watch? At night they probably couldn't see it?

Sorry to hear. Terrible.

Obviously the police. Did he notify AP? In case it comes in for service?

Also, StolenWatch on IG is another place to check out.

Someone tried to mug me and rob my rose gold Grand Prix in South Beach Miami. Truly sorry to hear that your friend had his RB robbed from him.

Naples Italy

Last summer I was mugged for watch in Naples. I was there for a day on a cruise. Someone grabbed the shopping bag in my hand, when I went to stop him he grabbed my hand and sliced off my watch with a knife. Had a scar for a few months. Be careful wherever you go.

Wow man, glad that was all that happened though. That could have ended up badly.

Yup, but it ruined the end of the cruise

It freaked me out , went back to the ship and got ridiculously drunk. Quite shaken up.
