Tudor Big Block 79170
I am proud to announce my first vintage acquisition is complete. I bought a Tudor 79170 at an estate sale and had the local Rolex AD fully service and clean the watch. I got it back this afternoon and I couldn't be happier.
Had to share it - I really enjoy seeing all the forum members purchases and now can join in the fun! I am not the greatest photographer, but it is attached. |

Proper crown?
I noticed that my watch has a Tudor (not Rolex crown). I've noticed many pictures have the 79170 with a Rolex crown. Is this correct?

Originally it came with a Rolex crown. Might have been changed during a service. I've read of Tudor crowns replaced with Rolex crowns during service but not the other way around. Could be due to availability.

Please check your bracelet link screws. Might just be the lighting in the picture, but does appear to be lose. It should be flush with the link. Hate to see the screw lost or even worse. CD |
