Potential trade for PM

Thinking about trading my 16710 (3 bezels plus jubilee bracelet) and my DJ41 blue dial, fluted, jubilee bought new at AD in 2021 (complete set etc) towards a 2014 116719, with my trades I would need 19,000 cash in the deal.

I’ve been trying to source a YM37 for my wife and eventually a 126710 for me and I was told the DJ41 would start the relationship. AD has gone dark (I don’t live close so I can’t just to stop in, we traditionally texted),I have followed up on the YM37 for my wife and he just stopped responding (yes he still works there). I’m talkingI check in maybe once a month, that’s it it’s not like I’m harassing him.

So I think he “may” eventually come through for me on the YM37 for my wife but I know I’m SOL for the 126710. I’ve lusted after the 116719 for years….do I make the trade plus the cash. I really hate to flip the 16710 but I’m considering it towards PM.

If you need to have it, the deal seems decent enough. I assume you own the 16710 for pre-bubble price, so you can condense and wear the 1 watch you love!

Ditto. Plus, I’d rather have two great watches (16710 + bezels and jubilee is practically six watches) and $19K or another two Rolexes than one PM. But then, it’s all about what you really want.

I’m a fan of the 116719 and would do the trade, if it has the blue dial even better.
Totally different watch compared to the ones you own.
Another league really

There is an incredible feel of a full PM watch....once you have one, you will understand. Very hard to explain it. Its a huge jump monetary for you for this watch, make sure you can live with that first.

I would do it but can you sell privately? Maybe to a trusted seller or on the forums and just buy the 116719? I feel like you would do much better.

I would never ever do that trade. Two very nice steel watches (I have a 16710 too with all the bezels and two bracelets) + 19K cash for a full pm GMT. No. Trade doesn’t sound good too value wise.

Not a deal I would do on the money level or giving up two great watches.

I would trade the DJ, but not your 16710.

Asking price of the 116719 is 40,900 for reference. I know I would miss the 16710 and likely not miss the DJ41.

Thanks so far for the comments.

I wont speak to the value of the trade, but I would do the trade if the money involved was appropriate and deal was fair. PM WG is a really nice wear!

I’d don’t hate it but I also don’t love it. I just feel there will be a letdown giving up two watches and adding a ton of cash to get another BLRO. Especially since it’s WG, it’s aesthetically very similar to your SS BLRO.

Yeah yeah, I know, steel versus PM, ceramic versus aluminum. I get it. But still….it’s a similar lol.

I like the idea of trading those two for a PM but not that specific ref since it’s very similar. I’d at least go blue dial but I know that significantly more.

I don’t love the trade.
