Please read if you have a Explorer 16570
Hi
If you have an Explorer 16570 (either black or white dial) could you kindly send a clear picture of the dial only. You might have seen me post a few threads already as I recently bought one but the “O” in the “Explorer” mine looks more rounded compared to some pictures I’ve seen online so just want to clear that up |

Throughout many models and years, there has often been variance in the “O” with some marks/versions having a round O and some having an oval O.

Could there ever be variance in the “O” between two watches of the same model and year? |

OP, as suggested, just post an image of your dial. Will allow the experts to chime in.

100% genuine, brother. Nothing to worry about here.
Rest easy and wear it in good health!

The "O" does indeed look off compared with the pictures that a quick google search reveals.

Thanks. I’m nearly close to being able to enjoy the watch (first luxury and Rolex watch). Hope you don’t mind me asking why you’re so sure it’s genuine?! All the pictures I’ve seen online have this below more pronounced Greek style lettering in “explorer” with more spacing between the letters and particularly the O looks different to mine. Not an expert, therefore can't give you a definitive yes/no, but on first glance with the evidence provided, it doesn't look wrong.

You have a late model 16570 - last iteration with cal. 3186 inside. That's what you should be specifically looking for (2008-2011ish). The image you've pulled up here (referring to your comparison shot) is of an earlier iteration with 3185 movement.
There will be slight variations within any generation of Rolex dial. I have seen this text size and spacing (and the "round" O) before. It is certainly rare on polar dials. I have seen this mainly with black dial 16570's. Have a look for yourself, you'll see it on black dials - quite common. How do I know? Been collecting Rolex 5 digits for well over a decade. I've owned multiple examples of everything... I'm a serious collector. More specifically: 1. Coronet is correct 2. Indices and their surrounds are correct 3. Swiss-made text at 6 o cock is correct 4. 5-minute dial hashes are the correct thickness compared to the others (which are thinner) 5. Dial text is correct 6. Rolex has indeed made Explorer's in the past with the "round" O and thicker font (T<25 dials, and swiss made dials), although it seems to be rarer than the 0val "0"

Thank you so much. Appreciate you taking the time to put my mind to rest.
I also managed to find another polar with the same explorer text https://chrono24.app/rolex/rolex-rol...GB&SETCURR=GBP I had looked at other 3186 cal polars before but they still had the more oval O on all of them until now but looks like the round O is just very uncommon (maybe that’s a good thing). I’ll finally start enjoying the watch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just to throw a wrench in the mix, I have a 2007 Polar, 3186 movement, no holes case, SEL, and engraved rehaut and have the more oval ‘O’ and spaced out letters.
