Looking at some 5513s....

Been looking and trying to find something in my comfortable proce range....

Anyway have found several I am considering from known sellers. Was curious on opinions. The prices vary and one of the ones that us the most beat-up looking is actually the most expensive but anyway...

3

4

5

6

And just because I really like the price and patina a 14060...

How about discussing what your price range is? Would help with comments regarding these various models.

It's a lot to ask of people to look through photos of 7 different watches, and then playing games with hints about asking prices after the fact (but still not giving actual asking prices). You are mixing and matching watches with greatly different values. Certainly the later WGS 5513 with luminova service hands is worth much less.

Forum members don't get paid to give you advice, so you will probably get more engagement if you make it easier. If you really want help, pick one or two that you're really serious about, provide good photos from all angles, and be transparent about asking prices.

My apologies I wasn't meaning to play games, just trying to understand how things are valued. Coming from collecting classic firearms to learning about vintage watches is a change. It isn't playing games, it is an honest question, showing prices at times colors people's opinions. I was asking honest questions in search of knowledge. I was genuinely surprised that 1 was the choice considering the much poorer condition of the bezel and case and was seeking clarification on just how much difference there was to the watches. I am sorry if I asked too much of the members of this board, I suppose I should have meekly posted 1 image a week rather than try to research and put together a set of watches seeking to educate myself and cause discussion on what I took to be a discussion forum. My mistake.

Have a good day.

As I said knowledge and discussion. Collectors forums I have been on the past seemed to love comparing and discussing multiple items against each other and why one item was better than another, sharing knowledge and fostering discussion on the traits of different items, in this case watches. In my thinking 6 watches allows a lot for people to discuss and talk about rather than just one watch.

As I said my mistake.

Try this kingcobb. List exactly what you are looking for. Model number, year etc. List a price range. Also, try the 5513 web site and do some research there and spend some time doing research elsewhere. Narrow your inquiry down to obtain some constructive responses.

The 5513 web site is discussed in the link below.

Condition is not always the determining factor in what makes a watch worth more than another. Some of us would far prefer to have a watch in what we think is all original condition than one that presents as being in nicer condition, but has a service insert, has been polished, and is has replacement parts.

I think why watch 1 has gotten some love here is because it presents as an untouched example. Sure, it has scratches and the bezel is not perfect, but that very well could be because it's never had anything replaced or polished.

Sharp and crisp lines are what defines an Oyster case and makes it so beautiful. IMO...It's worth the extra $ and time to find one as such.

And price is a huge determining factor in evaluation.

I would say, don't get the WGS one. I hardly ever wear mine and must sell it but I shoulda bought the earlier-dial version. Ah, I was a newbie back then. Anyway listen to Springer he knows the score
