maybe we are truly in IBTL territory...
So, it follows that you think they are 'cool' people. What makes them 'Rolex icons'? Did Rolex use them in their ads and marketing, as with Roger Federer? Why not include Gaddafi and Hussein? It must be because they are not OK/PC to include, but Castro and Guevara are... apparently.

Also, I'd say Dr. Martin Luther King is a 'world/life/morality/political icon, as well as 'cool' and I believe most would agree. Glad he's on there, BTW

You is the keyword here and it's his poster made by him and not for sale to anyone else so why start a political discussion/argument?

Yes, I'm quite aware it's HIS poster thanks, and he posted it up publicly for people to comment. Whether it's for sale or not is irrelevant. If you look at my first comment, I merely said it was a nice montage but that I would personally remove the two very questionable individuals I mentioned. That's all. That is not starting an argument, and what's wrong with a discussion? "" Then he followed with an attempt to patronise and condescend/tell me off by saying let's keep exclusively about watches, having celebrated said political duo in his poster.

i just said "LETS NOT GO THERE"...
but as we have seen we are not going anywhere with this, I will reiterate my view, i like the photos, they are suitable in black n white and the watches are in clear sight, they are famous people that obviously can start conversations etc... what more do i need to say...nobody is being glorified for anything other than sharing my (and some people here taste in watches)
...if we want to go there then fleming's bond is a mysogenist that serves as basically a professional assassin, brando is an ex addict, stallone had a past in porn...and im sure we could dig dirt on most there...

all I am saying is look past what they did and look at the pics...if there is a real problem with castro etc then pls suggest a cooler pic to take the space, but pls motivate it from a watch/fit in the collage pov, not just from a political one. Martin Luther king is there cos ITS A COOL PIC, look at the pose, 2 fingers pointing...president band clearly visible...large image too...perfect fit...not because of my respect for him...
otherwise nick nolte, stallone again, denzel , redford I mean they are good actors but thats it...

probably from the whole list only King , Cousteau and Edmund Hillary actually DESERVE respect for their contribution to the planet...the rest are just actors and yes POP CULTURE figures...

I really dont't want to fight with anyone, its supposed to be fun, when i release the png source files you will be more than welcome to customise it more to your liking... can we stop this OT and go back to suggesting how to make this poster 'cooler' ?

I did say it was nice work, but I just wouldn't include fascist murderers, that's all, however cool the photos may or may not be. Maybe there's an excellent photo of Hitler wearing an early Rolex somewhere... Hardly compares with doing a bit of recreational substance abuse or an alleged porn career does it? And James Bond is fictional !

Excuse me but I collect other watches as well as Rolex and I would like you to include them in here to satisfy my personal tastes on something that is otherwise nothing to do with me whatsoever...Or am I just being a pain in the....? ;-)

Great poster.
However, a couple of things to think about: While you probably won't have any problems using the celeb photos, you are using the official Rolex logo (presumably without their permission?). If they get wind of it, or see your poster, they may bite you--even though you say you are not offering it for sale and are giving it away freely. Big companies don't seem to have any sense of humor about unauthorized use of their logos or other proprietary (and copyrighted/registered material).
That being said, I still like what you've put together.

this is a shrunk down sample version of the original...which is designed to be printed at A0... (will be over 1 meter wide 6000pixels @ 300dpi ) i think it will look cool to hang this up in my 'boys toys room' ...

some men appear more than once , like mcqueen or castro but i am fine with that...love the pics anyaway...it my be hard to tell at this resolution and with the watermark but every pic shows a rolex on the wrist of the man...except wildorf's...he just had to be there anyway ...

what you guys think and i wonder have i missed out any super important images?

Looks very cool!!!

for what its worth, i don't think the rolex branding adds anything to the photo that would be missed.

PS your poster could be relabeled a "historic" account of Rolex to include whomever

great work!
please ignore my personal suggestions above at your discretion and expect no rebuttal from me for your efforts

FYI, here's a link to a previous thread on TRF regarding use of the Rolex trademark/logo on a custom home-made storage box:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

IMHO, it's just not worth the risk. Perhaps you may get away with it, but Rolex could take legal action against TRF for knowingly posting the images and violating their copyright.
Maybe if you just say "A Few Folks Who Wear a Rolex" (or something similar), without showing the crown trademark or any other Rolex information or image? Also, suggest you delete the Advertisement copy that's on the lower left and middle right of the poster.
