Still going strong and this is excellent. I reckon after 2 weeks, you may see a very small variation.

Spectacular!

It is just beyond the world of precise time-keeping.

Though I keep vintage Rolex and Omega watches, I have always respected Omega for its accuracy but now, Omega has a competitor!

This is why I love GS and their Spring Drive line. Only one more hour to find out day 12 result

Earlier on, I guessed there could be a variation after two weeks. It is about right.

For it to lose just 1 sec in 13 days, this a sensational achievement in the world of time-keeping.

Like what I pointed out in my earlier response to your post, a vintage Omega time-keeping is extremely superior, when compared to some other more established and popular Swiss brand-names.

Recently, a friend of mine sent in his 1986 Rolex Day-Date to RSC for a service, with a specific instruction, not to polish the case. However, he was informed the three hands had to be replaced, which is about right.

After a month or so, he got his watch back and jokingly, he asked whether the time-keeping would be '0' secs per day. The reply was, for that year model, at best it would be + - 5 secs per day, while the latest caliber is expected to vary approximately 2 secs per day, only.

Two weeks ago, I sent in my 1965 Omega Constellation for a service too, not to an Omega Boutique (too expensive for me) but to a local watchmaker. Prior to handing over the watch to the watchmaker, I emailed him your posting in this forum. He was astonished.)

After a week or so, I was advised my watch was ready for collection. I asked him, whether my Constellation time-keeping could match the Seiko Grand Spring Drive. The watchmaker said, the readings showed '0', '1' and '2' secs per day, depending on the positions.

After wearing my beloved Omega Constellation for more or less four days, I discovered it varies only '1' sec. This is fantastic outcome for a 47 year-old watch. I am sure, our forum members who own a vintage Omega watch will find it difficult to dispute my opinion about Omega accuracy.

None of the parts of my vintage Omega Constellation needed to be replaced and best of all, the service cost me, below $200.00 - the cheapest in Sydney!

I do not regret, not sending my watch to the Omega Boutique because they will keep my watch for at least a month and on top of this, there will surely be parts to be replaced. Worst of all, I cannot afford the bill, when it is ready for collection.

Perhaps, it is the most accurate watch produced - very much better than the quartz ones, too.

Till Seiko Grand Spring Drive comes

It had been all along, till the Seiko Grand Spring Drive is born.

Another plus factor, for the Seiko Grand Spring Drive is, it may have the potential of becoming a collectible time-piece, while virtually all quartz watches will never be collectible, save the Swiss ones that come with the Beta 21 movement.

The last time I sent in my Rolex model reference 5100 to RSC Sydney for a complete service, the watch had to be sent back to Switzerland. It came back, as good as new and I was inclined to keep it, for good. However I was warned, spares were becoming scarce.

I shall call it an 'atomic' watch, till someone else can better it. It is just spectacular, beyond one's imagination and ironically, only Seiko can achieve. It is hoped, those more established watch-houses read this.

Such an elaborate display of accuracy will never be rivaled by any of the Swiss big guns, for a long time to come.

Perhaps, we can safely say it is the most accurate watch produced, today. For a time-piece to be that accurate, surely the materials used are superior, to say the least. If accuracy is not a consideration, why mention COSC at the point of sale?

Thanks for bringing to our attention, your spectacular Seiko Grand Spring Drive's achievement. Enjoy your watch in good health.

AWE AWESOME , GS's claim to fame is to be accurate within one second per day (but is achieving accuracy equivalent within 2-3 seconds a month!). This is an accuracy achieved by no other luxury watches. I live in Az & 1 of the Largest Seiko AD's is located here (AzFineTime)
www.azfinetime.com
They have a huge selection on site & Joe & his staff are VERY educated/knowelegable within the Seiko line.Get ahold of him & he will tell you all about your GS
Congrats on your purchase

The finishing on these watches is incredible, but they have to be seen IRL to be truly appreciated

GS is one brand I would feel confident buying without a prior inspection with a loupe. In fact i would just enjoy the details through a loupe rather than worry about flaws
