Oh man, the music nib! I was torn between that one and the one I ended up with!
What I decided and am glad I did was to go for the stub and the first pen for 2010 would be a decapod with music so I have the best of all worlds! I love the celluliod Nakaya's, those and the briars are great gateway drugs into the urushi world of Nakaya which of course then leads to the ultimate...Maki-E Well done Kai, I am looking forward to a full review and your thoughts on the nib! |

Congrats Kai, I really like the flair in your handwriting.
The pen writes very nicely, how do you find the flow of ink and the smoothness of the nib? Did you get any personalised customisations to the nib?

Kai, congrats.
That's a stunning looking pen. Love the shade of green.

Thanks guys. Probably because it's a music nib with 2 spines, the ink flow is extremely juicy (not wet but right on the dot). There is a lot of shading with the Montblanc racing green as this ink is well-known to show different colours and shades based on different nib sizes.
The nib is one of the smoothest writer I have used. I do find it somehow a bit reluctant to start but highly likely it was due to the way I hold the pen. BTW I got it 2nd hand so haven't got the customisations done. However, I'm very satisfied to how it turned out. |

Late once again but congrats on obtaining such a work of beauty! That celluloid is simply stunning.
My next pen may be another Stipula, Aurora (maybe even a Nakaya after seeing this) but i know for sure it will be made from celluloid. Love that stuff. Btw also stocked up on 4 bottles of racing green. |
