Just thought i'd pop back for a while

Well the 233 is still away getting fixed, by all accounts it's still 2 months off being back with me

But as usual i couldn't stay angry at Panerai for long, so bought a nice new 177, after reading a few threads here i know it's just a lump of wood with a generic movement, but i like it

LOVE it! I didn't know something went awry with the 233? Oh, and that "lump of wood" guy?!?! I will never understand why people make posts like that...unbelievable!

Well it looks great, there are a couple of things that i'm not too happy with, one is the winding, on a 233 it's simple and easy, on a 177 it's a bit more of a chore as you only seem to get a couple of clicks due to the crown guard. The other thing, well all my Panerai straps don't really fit well now, the difference between the 1950s and luminor case means i'm now between holes on all of the OP straps

Yeah, the first time I wound my 111, I was like WTH!!!!

You get used to it and it isn't hard. I use my index finger below to keep tension on the crown while I wind it. It doesn't kick back as much if that makes sense.

To be honest it might just be a stop gap until the 233 comes back, but it's got a couple of months to grow on me and i do love the plain look, i would say the dial is even better than the 233 for me, the way a PAM should look

Got my 233 back finally the other day.
It had been gone since March!!!

It is now up for trade!!! I am looking for a J 243, 279 & Base model with logo.

Ryan your watch should be back soon! They finally got the parts they have been waiting and waiting for.

Nice one! I'm doing the same as you...18months since my last pam and jumping back in with hopefully a 111, just a bit different to the two 112's I've had :)
