My Fathers Rolex Precision Help Needed
Good Morning all,
It's been quite a while since I have participated here and my hope is to help me identify a watch I inherited from my Father. My Mother doesn't remember what year she bought him this Rolex but she found it in his old briefcase several years after he passed away. She gave it to me the other day and I did some superficial cleaning and opened it up for some photos. Gave it a gentle wind and it works like a charm but the crown won't set the hands. I did an exhaustive Google search but cannot find the Precision with the lugs that this one has. So is this watch restorable especially given that the crystal is cracked? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

18kt precision from the mid 50s I’m guessing. Any competent watchmaker should be able to service this beauty. Parts shouldn’t be too hard to find, doesn’t sound like anything major is wrong. Are there any numbers on the outside of the CB?

Nice piece.
Everything's restorable but give it a thought how much you really want it looking brandnew vs retaining proper patina from dad's usage. Any piece is only ever "original" once! |

Great looking 562 you have there OP!~
Please get rid of that aftermarket stretch bracelet, its probably digging into the lugs. Replace it with a nice leather or alligator strap. It deserves a minor face lift. I wouldnt go overboard on it though. Maybe just a strap, crystal and movement service. Then you can enjoy it for years to come and not worry if it get a little scratch or ding here or there.

I’d contact RWT about this one, I’m sure he could do a light dial cleaning and get the original looking good as well as running in top shape.

No numbers outside the case back. The only reference I can go off of is the movement and the case back stamping.
