Day Date Presidential 18038 Problem

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forums and somewhat new to Rolex watches, I do own a Datejust but just recently decided to pick up a Day Date 18038. Well it arrived today in the mail with box and all paper work (which is great) but I noticed right away that the Day & Date weren't centered and it appears that the Date wheel is being covered up partially so its only displaying half of the number. I've tried winding clockwise 24 hours ++++ and it hasn't remedied the problem. I plan to send the watch back but is this a common issue? I do like the watch and i'm hoping its minor problem that can be fixed by an authorized dealer. Any thoughts? Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

this would not be common...you should get it serviced.

Ask for money back and find another one. It's not good to have that issue at the beginning of ownership. They can be found easily. I had the same problem with one about two years ago. It happened two days after ownership while setting the watch. I requested a refund and found another watch.

I am not sure, but was it fully wounded up? Also did you try to set the date at 6 a clock?
