What the differences beteween ...

... Rolex and Tudor?
Let's be more specific I like a Sub C but I realised that a Tudor submariner or snow flake can do as first "proper watch", ATM I got my eyes on two snow flakes which seem I can get at about half price than a Sub.
So difference snow flake vs Sub?

Rolex uses in-house movements specific to their brand. Tudor watches use standard ETA movements. The older Tudor subs shared a lot of parts with the Rolex counterpart. Other than the movement, they're pretty much the same.

One other difference...

You pay more for Rolex's brand marketing expenses and adaptive market pricing strategy - it is up to 50% by some estimates.

Omega, for example sells comparably featured and robust watches at 60% of Rolex and makes a healthy profit at that price point.

Not completely true yes the Tudor line up does use ETA movements but lets not forget there are 5 grades in most of ETA movements. Now Rolex uses the top grade chronometer rated movements for the complete Tudor line up and not the bog standard first grade ones.

Be careful w/ purchasing a snow flake as I have found many to be altered over the years without official parts... do your homework and you will land a great piece!
