If it were me no....but it's a personal choice....the 1680 has a date though.....different vibe from a no date sub like 14060/5513 etc.

How about trading the BLNR toward a 1675 or 16750?

I'd do it for sure if the 1680 is in excellent condition. This is a vintage reference that is very hot and not likely to lose any value. You can always get a modern reference when finances permit...the vintage market is very different and all about condition and rarity...if it's a "gorgeous" 1680 that is original I'd snap it up while you have the opportunity.
Just my .02 Good Luck.

The BLNR market has cooled off a lot, id look at trading for a super nice 1675 if possible .

Depends what kind of what lover you are. Do you like to have at least one modern reference in your collection to rotate? (I certainly do.) If you also do, I'd keep the BLNR and also get a nice 1680, if your budget permits. If you're a one-watch guy who only wants a vintage piece, then sell/swap the BLNR.

Regarding prices for the BLNR, I haven't seen the market cool off at all. (Note that everything cools slightly during the holidays.) I've been looking for one at a decent price, and other than the new Daytona-Cs, they're probably still the closest to retail of any modern Rolex reference on the secondary market. Used are still mostly above $8K, and close to $9K with stickers. ADs don't get many of them.

Thank you for the replies and further thoughts

The 1680 is from trusted seller here and he rates case as excellent bracelet as excellent and dial and hands as excellent...

I have Seiko PADI, Seiko 007, a CWC, and a couple of cool steinharts all modern....

Here's a pic of BLNR to compare vs my now gone 5512...if I keep BLNR I will polish the center links.

Two very different pieces a you know. I couldn't wear a 4 digit everyday but they are super nice to have in the rotation. The BLNR is a perfect for any occasion piece.

I thought the center links were already polished on the bracelets of the new GMTs, no? The BLNR is one of the nicest modern references, IMHO, if not the nicest. It's still no 4 or even 5-digit GMT, but it's very cool. Thinking of getting one!

Have you tried a jubilee on the BLNR? Really changes the look and gives you some of that rattly vintage bracelet charm

Absolutely!! Among other reasons, a 1680 likely won't look exactly like another 1680, while a BLNR will look like...well...every other BLNR

I'd do it if I felt like it - knowing that going the other way is most likely easier

Very cool! What kind of Jubilee and end pieces are those? Any issues with the fit of an older Jubilee on the newer-style GMT cases?

Thanks Aaron! Yes it's the 62510H bracelet on 502T endlinks for the no holes case GMT2s. The fit is close enough, you just have to use 1.8mm spring bars instead of the beefier 2.0mm bars that are fitted on the oyster.

Couple more pics:

I have had 116710, 116600, 116660, 116610LV and flipped for 16710 (wouldn't mind a 4 digit ref at all) and 1680.

I was in your position. I have a blnr as well. But decided to keep both blnr and 1680. I feel they are both a good mix. Pardon the u1 in the photo.
