This is 5512, case back say 1 62 with a 1530 movement, I changed the crystal but i saved the OG one if there is a need to put it back on. Can the rolex experts chime in on
1) Is this the original dial, if its been refinished or relumed? 2) polished? Bezel original? 3) how would you describe the watch Thanks you |

look at the way the words are printed on the dial - not all uniform and sloppy in various areas.

How about pictures taken in daylight, the dial might just look of due to the bad lighting.
Looks like a original fat font mk1 insert.

This could be quite an vintage original, you need to send it to Rolex or have a good independent vintage Rolex watchmaker look at it. The Silver print is not gilt (brass base plate of the dial) but painted on the dial later after the black and glossy varnish? So, it can deteriate with the varnish much more readily. The radium / tritium lume (exclamation mark) looks good to me.

Agree with milwatch126 - also check the fonts compared to mattedial5513.com - there's a section on the early gilt/gloss 5512's and you can see how the fonts compare to that silver print.

I may have to flip my views around.
After seeing the macro pic, the dial could be genuine. |
