GMT PEPSI new-126710 v. old-1675 Comparison and Vote Now

These are the size statistics:

GMT 126710 v. GMT 1675
Watch thickness: 12.3mm, 12.8mm
Twin Lock Crown: Diameter 6.9mm, 5.1mm
Bezel diameter: 40.2mm, 39.4mm
Case diameter excluding bezel: 41mm, 38.8mm
Lug width drop-out:19.9mm, 19.7mm
Total Lug length tip to tip: 47.7mm, 47.0mm
Crystal/plexi diameter: 29.9mm, 29.5mm

So we are not talking sheep stations in size difference.
It is surprising that the overall height of the vintage GMT is greater than the modern version.
Also overall the dimensions have not changed greatly.
The crown diameter is significantly different and the case diameter is a little greater in the modern version.

Personally I have to go with the 1675 — if I had to choose — I like the dimensions of older style - the weight — how they wear - and the original aluminum bezels it just reminds me of the ‘old’ days and what I loved about the Rolex professional line.

I’m also a sucker for the vintage dials. Classic.

Then again the vintage GMT was so far advanced in its forward thinking 40+ years ago, you can't go past the fact that the 1675 has stood the test of time, and its still ticking strong.

Looking at the measurements on paper - it´s amazing how a few "millimeters" can drastically change the dimensions of a watch.

I'd move on with the times Steve, but the GMT 1675 has worked out very well for me. "Sheep station" - I'm still working on that!!! I'm use to feed lots here in Texas and don't believe there many sheep stations around here.

1675s have not only been my favorite GMT forever, but easily my favorite Rolex and watch of any maker, bar none.

Suddenly, however, I'm finding it hard to vote for it yet can't vote against it. I don't know what to do. What's going on here?

Without a doubt the 126710, love the looks of the 1675 but on the wrist it does not do it for me

The 126720 is not bad...but that 1675 is a work of art. No comparison for me....everything looks better on the 1675 from all angles.

Complete opposite opinion. The 1675 is a great vintage classic but the new one is complete art deco luxury. It shines , it has superior function, it's build quality is obviously light years ahead.
It would be great to own both, vintage watches are special indeed. But in 2018 if I were spending my money on one it would be the 126710BLRO....the problem is I can't spend my money on it.

126710 for me is the perfect modern Rolex and for me it's a tough one to beat. Sure I have had my share of 1675's and 16750's etc but this one is perfect in every way! The new jubilee blows the old jubilee away and for me that alone makes it a more desirable watch. Of course the 4 vs 5 vs 6 digit debate will go on forever and each will have it's set of die hards!
