There are three watches I am looking to purchase for my first rolex watch. All three are yachtmasters. The first one being a D serial two-tone watch with a champagne dial for $7,000. The next one is also a D serial two-tone blue dial and purchased in 2007 for $6,000. The last being a ym platinum with a y serial number for $5,750. Which is the best deal? Any help is truly appreciated, considering it is my first purchase.

IMHO, I would go withe with the TT Blue dial, or the SS/Plat...the hands clash too much on the champ dial

You can set this up as a poll, and we could have responded anonymously.
Then you'd really find out how we feel.

Perhaps the classic SS/Platinum for the first?
Then there wold be no worries over scratching the highly-polished YG center links.
The watch might also "match" more of what you wear on a daily basis.
Dressy enough for the most formal occasion, yet not out of place at the most casual.

My first Rolex is a little dressy, with a white gold rotating bezel.
I've cleverly set up the "need" for a more "casual" Rolex.

The TT Blue YM is exquisite, & the blue dial works so well with the red writing

All three are very nice. It's a matter of personal preference. I'd go with the SS/Platinum. Just my preference. One thing to keep in mind is the market and resale. Yeah, I know, nobody buys a watch thinking they may trade or sell it at a later time, right? Two-tones and non sport models have been soft for years.

Go for the Platty if you insist on the YM, but I'd prefer the GMT II C!!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally like the clean look of the SS/Plat YM, I'm not a fan of champagne dials, and I think TT/Blue works better on the Submariner, personally. You might want to consider the TT and White dial, that's a very sharp looking watch.
