USPS questions..

I just sent out a watch via USPS Registered Mail and I'm getting a little worried. It originally said it would arrive in 2 days but it still hasn't arrived (today is the 2nd day). And all it says when I track it is that it has been accepted (when I dropped it off at the post office). Is this common with you guys? I was hoping someone who ships a lot of watches through USPS may be able to chime in? Thanks

Don't worry, depending on the destination it can take up to 10 days.

In 2 days it wouldn't even get across the street..

I don't ship a lot of watches but have used USPS many times. I would not worry about it. Usually it will take 3 to 4 days unless you shipped it overnight. The shipping information online usually only gets updated once a day and you might just see "accepted" during the first couple of days. I never had a problem with USPS delivering something, especially when being tracked.

Don't worry about it. It will eventually get there. USPS Registered takes time because it is the most secure way to ship and requires the package to be signed for by every person who handles it. Rest assured, it will get there.

If I send something registered insured, it will be a minimum of five days. Never heard of two days to ship registered.

So my question to you is why doesn't the USPS just raise the price for first class to 50 cents and stop with the yearly price increases?

Isn't the USPS motto: "Not before its time" Been waiting for mail from the states only been 2 weeks tomorrow.

Seems to be a very common "problem" with registered mail and periodically someone hits the panic button and posts concerns here.

Registered mail will always be the slowest despite the additonal charges. Locked up when not in transit and signed for with every change of hands. If you buy an expensive watch, this is about the only way to insure it for what it's worth. Sadly, the security comes at a price in terms of time.
