Blue faced Explorer 1 mk2?

I want a blue face in the collection. I want an Explorer 1 mk2 but already have two black watches. As a result, I am now leaning towards an Aqua Terra to fill the void.
Any thoughts if Rolex might make this one day? I know the OP is close, but no cigar.

Assuming you want SS, will likely have to settle for the YM or DJ or OP from Rolex now and in the future. While a Sub or Explorer in blue would be a massive hit, this doesn't seem to be something Rolex is interested in doing.

Someone on here swapped out the hands on the blue OP 36 for Mercedes hands. Pic below

This gets you pretty close

Maybe one day we’ll see a white dial Explorer 1, but for a reference so steeped in tradition, a blue dial would show an unprecedented disconnect from the model’s heritage (as beautiful as it may be).

You may want to check out the blue dial Oyster Perpetuals. They’re perhaps a bit dressier - but the 39mm ones are remarkably similar in form and function to the 214270.
