"not allocated" means no one on the list has claimed it yet.

It's a little smoke & mirrors-y… They have a list and when a watch comes in they go down that list calling people, saying "are you interested" or do you want it. Some AD's will take a deposit over the phone to hold it for you, others don't and in theory it is first come, first serve, BUT the watch likely isn't out in the display, so no one knows unless they ask or get called about it.

If they don't take deposit and you say YES I want it they may hold it for you for a brief period, but if you aren't 100% sure or you pass on it, they move down the list or will potentially sell it to someone that asks - right time, right place, like the OP here.

My first time going to an AD with no prior relationship or sales history, they had a GMT LN in the back that they offered to me on the spot because they had left multiple messages for a guy and he hadn't responded. I was asking about a BLNR and they offered me that one, implying that if I bought it I'd have priority on a BLNR later. I passed though.
