No worries JB,

If you have an AirKing you can post it here. Otherwise the non-Rolex section is where you should be for your query. More specific information can be had there

Great doubt

I want to buy one for my wife. What is the cutest dial? Both the color and the type of numbers or marks. I thought also of the model 116000 that is 2 cm bigger so I can use me too. Are saying?

Aventura,

The way you put that is a little off-putting to be honest.

Let your wife decide what is cute.

The AKD is a classic, and hard to find.

Explorer,

My AK is a 5500 from 1985

Hey Deluxo,

Congrats on a fine purchase. We need to see photos soon!!!! Can't wait to see it.

Hey Ksersoze,

Mighty fine roman 14010 you have there. That dial has a bit of a cult following around here. White or silver dials are my favorite.

Thanks joe100. It actually keeps time better than my early Z-series 16570 Explorer II.

Never knew exactly the model # of my AK. Was at my watch guy today and he popped the band off. It's a 14000, made in 1990. Got the S/N too!!!

Wish I could, haven't figured it out yet. A mod on another forum has been yelling at me for years for not posting pics of my collection (or accumulation).

It´s funny, My Air-King changes colur in different lights, in the morgning it is very steel looking and almost bluetoned, in the evening it´s much more champagne and very warm in it´s coulor. i have had it for a few days now and i get alot of great coments about it.
I Love my AK and i think it is the greatest watch in the world.....

It is a fine watch. I have an acrylic crystal and mine always seems to take on a gold color in certain lighting even though the dial is silver

Will add some pics in, my mum trying on an AK with pink markers. I got her a straight silver dial for xmas, looking forward to giving it to her.

Although I think it is gonna look great on her, now I've handled the watch, gotta say Rolex have really dropped the ball with the hands on this new model. They are too small. Why would they change them from the old model? No one would agree this change is for the better. The same size Date, has bigger hands. The only way you can tell the difference between the minute and second hand is because the second hand is moving.

So I'm disappointed with that. Mum wears reading glasses.

Anyway I see Anders on the first page here had the hands changed. Wondered how much this cost.

My 14000M.

Rik - Just as I promised, if you look closely, I chipped the rim of the crystal really good at 12:00. THEN I took photos. and you thought I was kidding.

Sorry for crappy iPhone photos but I didn't want to break out "the gear" lol
