Perfect 3 watches collection

What would be your perfect 3 watches collection?

1. The day watch: the watch that suits your occupation.

2. Dress-down timepiece: worn everywhere from the beach to the ski slopes or for pottering around in the garden.

3. The dress watch : A watch geared for special occasions and big nights out.

Or if you think a collection should have more than three, comment please!

Welcome to the forums!

Day watch: Rolex 36mm Explorer I
Dress-down: Patek Philippe Nautilus 5726a (on a strap)
Dress watch: Patek Philippe Calatrava 5116R or 5119J, need to see them in real life to see the difference between the white enamel dial and the white lacquer dial.

But I quite honestly really need more than 3 watches

Perfect 3 watches collection

Day Watch: My SubC, or Patek Phillip 5270. Both suitable for my occupation.

Dress-Down: My SubC.

Dress: Patek Phillipe 5270

All I need is 2! Two uses for each of them.

6) Dress to Impress watch : IWC RG Portuguese ( the most bling )

7) Watch to impress fellow WISer : IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar

Had it for a moment, it was:

SD as daily
Exp II polar as traveler
Patek Aquanaut as 3rd

Each of them could suit any occasion for me.

Now where would the Panerai 127 fit into this mix?

Day Watch: Should be a G-Shock but since I don't like them it would be an Explorer II
Dress down Watch: A Sub, GMT, or my current favorite, Tudor Black Bay
Dress Watch: Patek 5227

I don't know why I don't already have an Explorer II. It really would be the perfect watch for me. I know why I don't have the Patek 5227.

If I list it here that I only need 3 watches, how in the world can I continue to justify to myself and more importantly my wife, that I need 20+?
You're not gonna catch me by this trick question.

Just did this exercise for a friend

He was looking for an all Rolex collection. We got it to 4 watches:

Sport = Submariner 1104060
Travel = GMTIIC 116710
Chrono = Daytona 116520
Dress = Datejust II 116334

Mine was a bit different:
Sport = 1104060
Travel = Patek 5164
Chrono = Lange Datograph pt
Dress = Lange Grand Lange 1 pt
