I do not agree on calling them "Rollies".

While I have never been accused of having bad taste, I have never been told I have good taste, either.

No offense, just sharing my opinion.

I took the time to read a lot of the replies. So. Much. Butt hurt.

But then it reminded me how many other unpopular opinions I have.

The island you visited is lame. Take an original wrist shot for crying out loud. At least put a tree. Or the sky. Or sand. Or perhaps the ocean behind your dive watch. Your feet up is dumb and tired. Nobody cares about your $11 beer either. Stop pretending you could tell if it wasn't PBR.

Also, omega movements are in many ways superior.

Also, brand cachet is another overused phrase.

Also, the weird hierarchy here of people kissing the asses of those who own sky dwellers and day dates and daytonas is absurd. All of those watches are wonderful. But not more so than the ones other members wear. And not harder to get aside from the higher (mostly) barrier to entry.

Similarly, this whole waiting for years for something to arrive at an AD baffles me. There are many legitimate pros and cons to buying one place vs another. But if you're going to go online whining about a seller of things being unable or unwilling to sell you a thing for which you have cash in hand, you are doing it wrong. There are so many ways to obtain nearly any reference number within a day that anyone serious about making the purchase should be able to do so.

Geez this is fun.

Also, gold watches are cheesy. White gold is even worse because it looks just like stainless steel to everyone else. Platinum is even worse.

Tudor watches are almost without exception ugly.

The turn o graph was really cool. They should bring it back.

The cyclops on the new sea dweller bothers the piss out of me more than the size increase.

One member posted a picture of his blnr on a jubilee with the cyclops removed. It was probably the best looking mod I've ever seen done to any Rolex reference.

The GMT Coke is ugly.

The explorer 1 would be better with a date.

Polished center links aren't really as big of a deal as people think.

36mm is plenty big. Conversely, many wearers can pull off a 44mm watch. There's really not a right answer.

I don't care how cool your scuba vacation was, you're still a desk diver.

The no guns rule here is weird to me.

It's perfectly fine to wear a sports watch with a suit or a tux. Stop being a dandy.

Put some effing socks on. You all know who you are.

Ok that's all I got.

None taken, and I hope I did not offend either. Humor does not always translate to text, unfortunately.

The GIGANTIC photos of your watch doesn't help. It just slows down everything and make me click to another thread. I'm not going to wait to see a HUGE closeup of your watch. It's just a watch.

I love this thread.....

I don't think I got anything that hasn't been said, but I'll reiterate there are certainly Omega pieces on par if not better than some Rolex pieces. Not surprisingly here, not many would even entertain the possibility...it's a shame really.

It's cathartic, but slap yourself for suggesting that the Exp1 needs a date. Ok second thought, they can do whatever they want with the 39mm it's bloated and stupid already.

The Exp already has a non-date complication.

Super weird, I would rather see some fine firearms rather than the same 5 brands of expensive cars. I bet there are some really nice collections some of the members have. I would not mind seeing those.

Completely agree....

Plastic crystals...flimsy bracelets...feel cheap and tinny....don't get the hype over wearing someone else's old, beat up junk. So what if eric clapton, john mayer or someother overpaid celebtard owned it...or if the italians tell me its "sprezzazura"...or the japanese saying its "sugoi"

Only exceptions are solid gold daytonas...

Jubilee bracelets are ugly even on the wife

Platona is ugly but the ICE Blue President is supreme

Daytonas are too dainty

YMII so cool, especially in two-tone everose

Two Tone Oyster Bracelets are cool

Bring back the Root Beer, minus the jubilee

Wow, I feel so much better now.

FLAME AWAY!
