Black Bay 58, OP 36, or New Seamaster?

Random decision to make here. I currently have a Black Bay black bezel but have fallen out of love with it recently. It’s honestly too bulky for my tastes. I don’t mind the 41mm size but the case thickness is too bulky for me.

I had an Explorer MK2 before that I liked but traded it for the BB. Stupid decision, but I made a nice profit that I’m looking to buy this next watch with.

Should I buy a Black Bay 58? The thinner case really intrigues me.

Buy an Oyster Perpetual 36 black dial? I like the 36 over the 39 because the double batons on 3-6-9. I also really want a Rolex again.

Or buy a new Seamaster? I keep looking at these and thinking how cool these new ones are.

The obvious answer is actually candidate #4...

Go back to the Explorer. You want a Rolex, you thought it was a mistake to sell which probably was, and it will not be another mistake like the Omega would probably turn out to be once you get pass the honeymoon period.

You can thank me later.

Omega. It's a lot of money for the watch. The fit and finishing is amazing. You already have one Tudor, and the BB58 is very similar in aesthetic as is the Explorer. Alternative you could get the 58 and the SMP and sell the black bay.

Pulled the trigger on the OP 36 black dial! Couldn’t be happier. I sold the Black Bay and did very well on the price. I also picked up a Seiko SSC667 chronograph to have a larger option. They had an OP 39 available as well, but I really like the double batons on the 3-6-9 on the 36.

White dial OP 36. That’s all you need to know.

Seamaster. The OP is just too bland for me.

I purchased a BB58 and am very happy with it. Although not a Rolex I like the size reminds me of a 5 digit and the price from 10 years ago. Fits in nice in my stable with my old 5 digits and other various toys. But the BB58 is really nice.

You guys realize he already made his decision, correct?

Congrats on the pickup OP.

I've been looking at that watch vs. BB36. Value prop of the latter has me leaning that direction, but you might have just made that decision even harder.

I also strongly considered the BB36 at first, it sits fantastic on the wrist but I have a hard time spending 2,Xk on what is essentially a very bland Tudor with a 2824 ETA. A movement that is built with a date-function but tudor just modified the crown position to skip the date-setting position :/
