Advice needed..............

Hi, would need your advice on my watch. I have a Submariner 1680 Mk I. series 5.081.XXX Is my watch of 1977? Is my dil a Maxi dial? Thanks for the reply also help. Regards Paradis

If I recall correctly, the whole Maxi dial circus involves the 5513 no date subs.

The Maxi Dial terminology as it applies to vintage Rolex watches refers to the reference 5512 and 5513 starting with the Maxi I in the early/mid 5 mil series watches and ending with the Maxi V in th 8 mil series.

All 1680 Subs have the larger lume plots, this includes service dials. (Afaik)
Maxi is a 5512 and 5513 phenomena.

Hi, yes, that serial number does correspond to 1977! And congratulations on a beautiful watch!
