I was very forcefully told at the Vacheron boutique in Dallas a couple weeks ago that there will not be a steel 222.

I always wonder why they don’t make the SS. They know we want it. Elitism? Production incapacity? Vacheron has *no* steel men’s bracelet offerings from 35-40mm (ugh); this would be my next watch.

Capacity constraints…. If you can only produce 25k a year, it makes sense to focus on PM.

Why should they waste production capacity with lower margin products?

It would reduce the value of the overseas line. I don’t think we’ll ever see a steel 222 unless they’re desperate. Probably white gold next, maybe the two tone; overall margins on PM are much better.
