Yes! The tour guys that declined the LIV money and we’re told they would never be able to come back to the PGA tour must be pissed. I bet Rory wants to go after Jay. Rory’s been a loyal mouth piece for the Tour only to have the rug pulled out.

This is what I was thinking. Folks like Phil, Bryson, DJ, Brooks etc. got $100M+ and get to go right back on the PGA Tour next year. Woods must be kicking himself for turining down $400M (not like he needs it, but still).

Sour Rory must be soooooo pissed right now.

How can any of you live with yourselves supporting a sport backed by all this Saudi Blood money

Agreed. I don’t see how Jay Monahan survives in his position. Can’t wait to hear what Rory has to say about this.

Doesn't matter if he stays the commissioner of the PGA he is already the CEO of the new for profit entity. He basically screwed over the guys that were loyal to the PGA, Rahm, Rory, Fowler, Spieth, Thomas, Scheffler, etc the list goes on and on. Those guys had offers of hundreds of millions of dollars to join LIV they turned it down to stay loyal thinking that if they ever went to LIV they would be banned from the PGA for life. Now in 2024 Keopka will be back, phil will be back, cam smith will be back, guys who took the hundreds of millions of dollars and will be back on tour.

Monahan basically screwed over the PGA players that were loyal he's a complete POS in my book. I don't understand how a decision like that can be made on a "players" tour without talking with the players prior to the deal being done.

This just shows Saudi's can buy whatever they want doesn't matter what moral ground you stand on, eventually enough money gets thrown at whatever they want for that entity to hand the keys over.

The LIV defectors are absolutely eating this up, as they should. They should throw hundred dollar bills at Rory the next time they see him.

Who knows, maybe those that stayed with the PGA will get some consolation bonus from the PIF. If not, lesson learned that the PGA leadership will throw them under the bus while enriching its own leadership.

Not everyone, but it does seem like those with any kind of ethics, morals, or values are getting fewer everyday now.

Certainly a lot of negative press about this merger concerning getting into bed with the Saudis, pertaining to 9/11, abuse of Saudi citizens, etc etc.

Not having followed golf at all, I was surprised at reading all the vitriol coming from non golfing circles about this merger.

Monahan has been an awful ambassador of the game. It was his and Greg Norman’s egos that caused all these issues to begin with. The players should remove Jay and also sue him for breach of duty/contract. Then Tiger and Rory among others should sue the new organization for lost wages not received and hold them accountable to their original offers LIV gave. Jay breached his duty of looking out for the players best interest. That may void the deal all together if the players decide to take a legal battle. Heck maybes it’s time for Tiger to start his own tour with other top names.

Yep, all this is useless chatter unless the fans actually stop supporting this sport. Many are calling for Jay Monahan's head, but I wonder what they are willing to do about it? Actions speak louder than words.

I was told the new system will be based on experience so the PGA will handle holes 1-8 and 12-18 and the Saudi’s will do 9-11.

Will Women be allowed to play in Saudi, in their Mini Skirts and Hotpants?
Will females be allowed to drive, on course buggies?

These are the reallyimportant questions.

Yes to all.

Women do all these things in the American enclave in Saudi. Skin tight leggings, revealing clothes, and all the things they do in the US.

One of these days this may happen …. Hopefully to the Sub date and not the Submariner… I like that the later is only available in one configuration

Before being offered a truckload of cash:
"Listen, I think I’ve been pretty clear on this: I don’t see [a truce] happening," Monahan said then. "When you look at where we are, and you think about words and actions, we’re currently in a lawsuit. So, coming together and having conversations, to me, that card is off the table, and it has been for a long period of time."

After getting the truckload of cash:
"If you just look at just the environment that we're in, the PIF was controlling LIV, and we were competing against LIV," Monahan told reporters in a Tuesday press conference. "I felt very good about the changes we've made and the position that we were in, but ultimately, to take the competitor off of the board -- to have them exist as a partner, not an owner -- and for us to be able to control the direction going forward put us in a position as the PGA Tour to do and serve our members, and at the same time, again, get to a productive position for the game at large."

Comment
“You know, it probably didn’t seem this way to them, but as I looked to our players,” Monahan said, “those players that have been loyal to the PGA Tour, I’m confident that the move that they made — they’ve made the right decision. They’ve helped rearchitect the future of the PGA Tour. They’ve moved us to a more pro-competitive model.”

Translation
Boy am I glad those big names stayed back and fought. They brought media to this and this helped me increase the payout we got from LIV. Thanks Tiger!

Obviously I am poking fun and have no idea of the facts behind the deal but this all just seems like a big money grab. I mean maybe the PGA was done for and this was the only way to save it? No idea.
